When people hear that you can make money on the internet, the responses are divided. One says, “yes if you invented Google or Facebook, I like to believe it is possible.”
The other says “Wow, really? How do you do that? I want to be able to do that too! And it is mainly for people with the second reaction that the internet can be exciting.
No, making money on the internet is something everyone can do. And you too.
Thanks to digital marketing.
All you need is a dose of common sense and willpower.
Especially willpower and perseverance.
Even if you don’t have your product at this point or you don’t know what to sell at all, you can still start making money on the internet.
In this article, I will explain in 3 simple steps how everything works and what you can do to get started.
How to Make Money Without Products
Step 1: What are you going to sell?
Never assume that you will be making money online every day. There are known cases of people with whom everything works immediately, but believe me, the chance is small. You will have to work hard.
So keep in mind that you start something that you will have to work on for a more extended period.
So you better dive into a market in which you are interested.
Everyone has a passion or a hobby.
Maybe it is gaming? Or sports? Or perhaps you like to travel?
Write down 2-3 things for yourself that you enjoy doing and that you can enjoy doing for the rest of your life.
Based on this, you can now search for a product that you are going to sell.
Because if there is one thing you need to do to make money on the internet, it is to sell something. But how do you do that without your product?
Well, if you don’t have your product, the ideal solution is affiliate marketing.
With affiliate marketing, you promote products from other companies. When someone buys the product after you have referred it, you get paid a commission.
It’s that simple.
There are various affiliate networks on the internet where you can create an account yourself. After you have registered with such an affiliate network, you can search the product overview for the products you want to promote.
You can’t imagine it, or there is an affiliate program for it. As good as any product that you can find on the internet, you can also promote via some affiliate network with your link.
If you like to travel, you can offer tours, for example. If you want to game, you can promote games and consoles. And so on. Once you have chosen a product, you can request your link to promote that product.
If someone buys the product via that link, you will get your share.
Some known affiliate networks are:
Step 2: Who are you going to sell to?
You have now decided which market you would like to dive into and which products you would like to offer. The big question, of course, remains “who is going to buy those products via your link?”
The answer is simple: your target audience.
Based on the product you have chosen to promote, you need to find out who your target audience is.
Try to capture your target audience as accurately as possible:
- Which people would buy the product of your choice?
- Why would someone buy that product?
- What problem does the target group currently have?
- Where is the target audience on the internet?
- How old are they?
- Where do they live?
- Are they married, or do they still live at home?
- What are their hobbies and interests?
- How much budget do they have?
- Do they often buy online or do they prefer to go to the store?
If you have been able to answer the above questions, then you already have more or less an idea of who your target audience is and to whom you should sell. By knowing who your target group is, you can also offer other products that they are interested in.
It is always better to have more than one product.
Not everyone buys the first product you offer, but maybe the second or third. Even if someone buys the first product immediately, you’d better keep some products on hand to offer at a later time.
Step 3: How are you going to sell?
The first choice to make now is the following:
- Are you always going to promote everything directly through your affiliate link?
- Or are you going to create a website and Facebook page to promote the product?
My personal preference goes to the second.
If you create a website and Facebook page yourself, you are building a long-term business for yourself.
Now that you are going to promote trips as discussed above, then, in my opinion, you would do well to open a travel blog, Or possibly an information website about a specific country for which you promote travel.
That way, you immediately attract the right target group, and you have more opportunities to offer the products subtly.
You may not understand why I prefer this option over directly promoting the affiliate link as this is a lot more work. But rest assured, everything will become clear later.
With your website, you have an online home base. And an online home base is much more interesting in the long run than a link that you have to share continually.
One of the many options for sending visitors to your affiliate offers is advertising.
For example, you can advertise to:
- Your affiliate offer (direct)
- A specific post on your Facebook page
- An opt-in page
- Your website
If you want to know: I prefer the opt-in page. Then you are busy building an email list.
You can also send a lot of visitors to your affiliate offers via various social media platforms (such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube).
For example, you can create a Facebook page about your topic and post updates regularly.
Now and then you add your affiliate link.
Another way is via YouTube.
As discussed earlier, you can also choose to create a niche website.
You then share as much VALUABLE as much as possible for free !! information based on blog articles, so that you collect your fans in this way.
That makes everything much more comfortable in the long run.
Because if you share a lot of information (and therefore have a lot of text on your website), Google will like your website. If you can then ensure that you can get a constant stream of free visitors to your website, you don’t even have to advertise anymore.
What is super important, as mentioned, even when you are doing affiliate marketing, is that you build an email list.
An email list is invaluable in the long run.
An Email List is indispensable for any business.
Partly for that reason, it is also useful to have your website, so that you can create an opt-in page. You then use this opt-in page to collect email addresses from your prospects.
If you have already paid through the advertisements to get visitors to your website, you better do everything to “catch” those visitors because the chance that they take action from the first time is less likely than if they have known you for a while.
You can always send those visitors an email with your offer via their email address. What you should not forget when you build an email list is first to create a good relationship with the people who register.
That means you shouldn’t try to sell it alone. Otherwise, it will not work.
You must continue to send them valuable information so that they trust and respect you.
(Emphasis on valuable information)
The decision about making money on the internet without a product
I think we should especially decide that making money on the internet can be done by anyone, even without their product.
Don’t get me wrong: it is certainly not for everyone.
By this, I mean: it takes an absolute passion, perseverance, and a keen understanding. Your affiliate link is not a magical link where you automatically earn money if you spread it all around.
No. You have to be willing to do a lot of work and to set up, test, and optimize a complete process. You really should consider it a business— A company or Blog even without a product.
Because in general, in my view, an affiliate business should not differ much from an ordinary company. The goal must remain the same: to help people improve their lives and provide valuable information/products.
