Recently, the presidential election results were declared in the United States which followed a whole lot of chaos and has been in the headlines since then. The win of Joe Biden led to controversies in the US as Trump and his allies challenged the outcomes of 2020 elections. After the win of 2016 election Donald Trump has been the president since then, the disappointment due to the loss has now turned into a troubling the Capitol by his allies leading to death and injuries.

The news spreading in the US about the implementation of martial law in us flamed up the general public who were already fuming over the false accusations and the violence at the capitol.

According to Merriam-Webster martial law is “the law administered by military forces that is invoked by a government in an emergency when the civilian law enforcement agencies are unable to maintain public order and safety.”

Earlier the US faced emergencies to implement martial law 68 times, declarations coming 29 times during labour disputes. Followed by 2 times during war storms and one at the time of natural disaster.

Martial law was last imposed in 1963 in the US in response to riots and chaos, after the attack of Japanese in Pearl Harbor.

A recent statement by trump “it’s only the beginning of our fight to Make America Great Again!” is a reflection of his intention. On Thursday the transportation secretary and education secretary has resigned from Donald Trump’s cabinet. The violent and outraged behaviour of trump and his defenders is an alarming situation.

The former US Defense Secretary Chuk Hagel stated that Trump wanted to impose martial law in us. It was also reported that former national security advisor Michael Flynn pushed the president to use the military to rerun the elections.

Earlier, trump conspired the voting machines, claiming the fault in software and tweeted on Thursday after the declaration of results as “DOMINION DELETED 2.7 MILLION TRUMP VOTES NATIONWIDE. DATA ANALYSIS FINDS 221,000 PENNSYLVANIA VOTES SWITCHED FROM PRESIDENT TRUMP TO BIDEN. 941,000 TRUMP VOTES DELETED. STATES USING DOMINION VOTING SYSTEMS SWITCHED 435,000 VOTES FROM TRUMP TO BIDEN”

Various controversies followed and the situation in the US is turning worse.

Although Trump denied the reports about imposing martial law in us and said that it is fake news by tweeting and the martial law in us will not be implemented. Twitter banned trump’s account permanently over his controversial tweets and accusations.

Impeachment means to put the president on trial and removing him from the position if the house representatives agree.

In 2017, the first impeachment was initiated over Donald trump but the house failed with a low margin. Now Trump is heading for a second impeachment, US congressional democrats would impeach trump over charges of “incitement of insurrection”.

The house speaker Nancy Pelosi stated that she would move forward with the impeachment if trump does not resign immediately.

Donald Trump stands to be the first president to be impeached twice in the history of the country.

His term ends on 20th January. The impeachment would be implemented if the required no. of members agrees. If convicted, trump would lose all his benefits and could be voted to ban him permanently from the public office.

BBC partners CBS news shared a draft resolution which reads “Donald John Trump engaged in high Crimes and Misdemeanours by willfully inciting violence against the Government of the United States.”

Also, Mrs Pelosi, the House speaker called trump “unhinged” and stated that the congress would do everything to protect the public while he is in the office.
